Hello ,


I had forgot to submit my divorce Petition in my paper work to CIC - New Delhi. CIC had asked my wife to submit it asap. Which we submitted with in a week.

It's been over 2 months since they have received it. No further action or any updates.

Wondering, how long the file delays in case like that ?

Do they start over the case or pick up the file where they left from?

Please help, much obliged.

Hi

When the VO requests missing documents, they put the app aside and assign a future date in which to look at it again. Generally, this is several months into the future. Sometimes they look at it earlier than that date and sometimes they don't.

Hey hiiiii,I have a similar case app filed on sep 16 and we didn't submit divorce petition.....so should I submit it now or should wait for ndvo's notification.....

You must I would say , write a cover letter & send it to them with your spouse UCI number & details etc

I m very stressed due to this mistake, make sure you send before they get to that point ... But you may consult with someone as well ... Kind of pro ... Immigration person or lawyer

Canuck in Uk has explained what happens . This also happened to me delayed my file by 2 months . If they gave you say 45 days to have your papers in by then thats most likely the time they will review your file again. If they gave you 60 or 90 days then count back from the date you received the email and go from there. They will not contact you saying we received your information. You will be waiting just like the rest of the applications until you see a change on eacs.

But after that like you said no answer or update ...

Jagpreet - Your case is very similar to mine. In my case after living in Canada for over 11 years I moved back to India in 2013, found a job there and worked as well besides getting married in October 2013. After my marriage I still lived in India till October 2014 and then returned to Canada. So from 2013 to 2014 I was also working in India.

In my case, I applied for my wife's sponsorship in April 2014;sponsorship application was accepted after which in June 2014 the file was transferred to NDVO. In September 2014 they asked my wife to submit my divorce petition and an explanation was given from my side(in September 2014 as I was still in India) as my divorce was ex-parte and no petition petition was available; only submitted my divorce decree after which in October returned to Canada and currently working in Calgary.

My wife's medicals expired just a week ago and so far NDVO has not responded to any of our queries nor are they updating her file status on ecas. Really wonder why they are so slow and silent. It's almost a year since I filed for sponsorship and also over a year now that her medicals have expired. Any idea or thoughts one/you could share???

They were requesting a schedule A for my step son . I automatically though i had missed it so i sent another one. They then requested it again so emailed them telling them i had sent it. Looking back i photocopied all the documents i sent and put them in an envelope . i had sent this document first time when i applied in April . This mistake on their behalf cost me to be a june applicant.
