Afidatvit in-lieu of parents Marriage certificate

Hi

I am planning to sponsor my parents permanent residency. Don't have any marriage certificate for my parents(married in 60s in India).
They are already in Canada on Visitor visa, is Notary affidavit from Canada is valid in-lieu of marriage certificate.
Please advise
