Hi,

I need help for the affidavit of No relationship. I have a son that I declare in my application to Canada(no-accompanying). sad to say I acknowledge my son but we don't have any relationship to discuss. She's already into new relationship, Canada immigration is asking the affidavit of relationship between me and her (the mother) of my son. Can anyone please send me a sample of Affidavit of no relationship. Need ASAP they only give me 30 days to submit.

Thank you very much.

Essentially all they are asking you for a signed document, likely notarized, that states you are not in a current relationship with your sons mother, that you share a child with her but nothing more. Write it in your own words to describe this relationship. Remember, this will be used to ensure you never sponsor her to Canada at a later date, so be truthful about the entire situation.

Best of luck.

I also had to provide an affidavit of severance of relationship, asked by the VO. I found an example of what to write in the letter on this forum. Then, I went to a commissioner of oaths and signed before her then she put her stamp on the paper. I sent the paper via courier to the visa office.
Looks like it was enough for CIC because I didn't hear from them anymore about that.
I still have a copy of my letter if you need an example.

This is an awesome information. As of now we are not in any relationship. But I am not closing the possibility that we maybe in good term again. What's the best way to explain to the embassy in order to protect me from sponsoring her to Canada in case a relationship will be develop in the future.

Have you lived in a relationship with your sons mother for 12 months consecutively?

How are you currently planning to immigrate to Canada?

I was asked for "proof of severance of previous relationship" (CIC's words) by the VO
I sent them an original signed document that we both had signed previously that was written to CRA.
Stating the fact that as of a stated date our common law union was over, Also at that time it was stated of our agreement about our children. At the end of the document it was written "To this we both agree"

I had also included copies of Federal and Provincial tax forms and tax credits forms clearly showing my marital status
had been changed to single as of the year of original separation up to and including previous year just before I married my wife.

I did not have anything notarized as severance was signed in ink on the date of separation and CRA has an original as well.

I am the sponsor... An applicant may require a notarized documents.

So far so good we have not been contacted about it again yet.

Wow this is getting confusing, who is the sponsor and the principal applicant? If your goal is to make the mother of your child come to Canada, I guess this will not be possible unless you are still in a relationship.

Oh yes, thanks Christoph100. I forgot to mention I also included tax reports from last years showing the change in civil status.

We haven't lived togrther with my son's mother.

I was sponsored by my mom as her dependent (Permanent Resident), Canada Embassy ask me to submit changes/updated status. I am still single but I added my son as non-accompanying dependent. After submission they are now asking the relationship between my son mother and me.

I apologized if there's confusions.

Thanks.

OK. They are trying to clarify if you and your sons mother have lived together or have a marriage like relationship.

If you have lived together for 12 or more months, even with her family and her, that will disqualify you from being a dependant on your mothers immigation application. If you dont disclose that information you will forever exclude her from being sponsored to come to Canada by you as a spouse or partner EVER. Be sure you are clear about the status of the relationship. Just because it might not be recognized in your home country does NOT mean it is not recognized in Canada. Don't put yourself in a position where you loose your family of an immigration thing.

What you would likely want to do if you two have NOT been living together is to write a letter explaining that your sons mother and yourself are involved in a girlfriend/boyfriend relationship. She lives with her family, you with yours. Your son was an unplanned pregnancy but you two have not lived together to form a marriage like bond.
