Hello everybody

I ve query about Birth Certificate. I am from Pakistan, i have lost my Birth Certificate. I have seen 1 case in which the applicant submitted Affidavit instead of Birth Certificate issued by his mother. is it ok to go with it? or i need to get my Birth certificate issued again( which is really a very painful procedure)?. Kindly guide me in this regard.

As per my knowledge, affidavits are not usually encouraged by CIC on behalf of birth certificates. But if a person do not have his birth certificate, the other alternative option is the school certificate in which the birth date, father's name and place are recorded. In addition, an affidavit is also better to be submitted to support the fact that the birth certificate is NOT available.

If your Birth Certificate was issued by NADRA then u can raise request for re issuance ... for this you can check NADRA website.... if it was issued by union council then i m afraid it was already useless because only NADRA issued Birth certificate was entertained in my case for AUS. immigration.... You need NADRA issued certificate i m suppose .....

Hi,

I am having a similar issue. I am sponsoring my spouse. Her place of birth is Nigeria. The only proof she has is her entry on her mothers passport. A years after her birth she moved to Pakistan. She never made her birth certificate. Now we need a (late) birth certificate. Can someone guide on it ?

Or should we pursue for 'Birth Affidavit' instead of Birth Certificate, and get it attested from Foreign Office.

Secondly I heard about 'Non-Availability of Birth Certificate', would that also aid in the process ? What is the procedure to get 'Non-Availability of Birth Certificate' in Pakistan ?

Thanks
