Advise when entering to Canada

Hope someone can help me...
If I am going to Canada for six months to visit my husband who is working there with a 2 years work permit, is it advisable to mention when i enter that I pretend to stay for that time or should I lie and say that Im going just for a couple of months with my return ticket and then being in Canada to change my return ticket for the right date of leaving?

Since you have a valid visa - you can be honest and mention the duration of your stay - they will probably ask you this. I dont see why they should have a problem at the border.
Have you been to Canada previously to visit your spouse?

Thank you very much Vermanaman, no I haven´t been in Canada before, but I´ve been a little worried because I don´t know how it works when you cross the border I don´t know if they could think that is too much time for me to be there as a visitor...
