Advise please - urgent

Hello friends ,

i need an urgent advise please , i am going back home (India) and i have indian passport but I’m currently working in canada on work visa , i renewed my passport last year because old one was expired. But i have work visa valid until Sep 2020 , do i need new visa issued on my new passport to travel to India and come back canada ? Please advise.

Do you mean your TRV visa on the expired passport is still valid? Because, the operational policy is that your visa counterfoil can't valid beyond your passport expiration date. However, since your visa is issued based on the expired passport information, I'll strongly suggest you contact IRCC. For example, for eTA travellers, If they get a new passport, they're required to get a new eTA. This may applied to you.

If you have a TRV in your old passport that is still valid, you can travel with that. You need to travel with both passports.
