Dear all,

Not sure if this question has been asked before on this forum, tried to search through the database and could not find a relevant topic addressing my query. If it has my apologies for the repetition. Below is my situation and query;

I landed as a PR on May 23rd 2009 and only stayed for 5 days, went back to complete my work contract while working on transferring through the same company to the Canadian offices. For the rest of 2009 I travelled back to Canada and stayed a few days still working on the transfer process. On July 1, 2010 I managed to transfer to the Canadian offices and started leaving permanetly in Canada.

My question is; will I encounter any problems during the citizenship application process for my long absences from Canada during the period from May 23rd 2009 to June 30th 2010, when I was not permanently leaving in Canada but a legal PR?

My assumption is that the safe physical residence days that will make me eligible to apply for citizenship are from July 1, 2010 to July 1, 2013 (assuming I never left Canada between those dates).

Let me know anyone's thoughts and ideas that has been in this kind of situation.

Thanks

As far as I understand the system it is the number of days spent in Canada that count. If you use the calculator on the citizenship site it should let you know if you are eligable or not.... As far as I understand the system....
