Hi all,
I hope some of you might have some useful info or some pertinent piece of advice in order to improve my eligibility chances for immigration under the Express Entry system (current status: ineligible. It seems I do not meet the minimum requirements)
I have a total of 377 points according to the CRS calculator. Here are some details of my profile:

Age: 38
IELTS (GT) Score:
W: 7.5 R: 9.0 L: 9.0 S: 9.0
Education:
Hons BA in Visual Media.
NOC: 5241
Relevant Work History:
3 years
I am the principal applicant and my common-law spouse is the secondary one.

Her application details are:
IELTS:
None (by choice, since the extra points added to the application would be a grand total of 3)
Education:
2 year University Diploma
Relevant Work History:
Over 3 years.

Does anyone know how many extra points I would get were I to gain another year of work experience?
A Canadian employer expressed interest in hiring me in a full-time position but they do not do LMAOs for artists role. Any insight as to what is the best way to secure a job offer from them?

I know the post is rather long but I hope that some of you will relate to parts of my situation and will be kind enough to offer any relevant information.

Much appreciated.

What you can do right now:
  • Your spouse can get up to 20 points on the language test. She could try to improve her score. Sometimes even half a point on one of the 4 components of the IELTS can make a difference.
  • You could do the French test (if you are knowledgeable in this language).
  • Having a job offer would give you 50 additional points. You do not need to have a LMIA if your job is LMIA-exempt. Now if your job requires a LMIA, the company needs to get one and there is not much you can do if they don't want to (apart from trying to convince them). Notice that the job offer must be valid for at least one year after you receive your PR.
What you can do on a longer-term basis:
  • You could try to apply for PNP. This is a rather long process and would cost you extra money, but it is worth 600 points.
  • You could try to first get hired by a company and work temporary in Canada on a work permit, so that you and your spouse can get some Canadian work experience (you need at least 1 year full time).
  • You or your spouse can try to obtain a higher degree.

the entire point breakdown for eligiblity is here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp
if you get more than 67/100 you're eligible so work around that first
