Hi, I'm from India and interested in applying for study permit to Canada September 2018 intake and I need some advice regarding my profile and permit chances. Following is my profile:

10th - 2005 (87%)
12th - 2007 (83%)

2007 to 2008 - preparation for entrance exams
2008-2009 - Got into a prestigious college but did not complete course and dropped out after 1st year
Oct 2009-nov 2012 - family business (civil background)
April 2013-march 2016 - different family business (civil background)
Dec 2016-Oct 2017 - another company (civil background)

I am interested in applying for undergraduate course in Computer Science. Also I had computer science in my 12th grade. Are my chances very very slim considering my study gap of 10 years ? Kindly advice.

As far I know, long gaps are not a big deal if you are going for grad studies and you have valid work experience. For under grad, chances are slim to none. Yet, do your own research and hopefully other members would comment on this too.

Thank you for replying. I really need urgent advice for you and other members regarding this whether I should apply or not. Or should I do my bachelors from U.K. instead and then apply to masters from Canada ?

I'm really interested in applying. Is study gap really that important considering my others stats are fine and also achieved IELTS score 7.5 band, when applying for Canada study visa. Will I get sure shot rejection even if I pay 1st year tuition fee and mention in SOP the following:

1. Why this course
2. Why Canada and not India
3. Intents after studying (return to India obviously if can't extend visa, with better employment prospects )
4. Explain my study gap (was employed)

I have travelled to U.K. before and came back and have enough funds required.

I don't want to apply if it's a 50-50 chance of rejection. Senior members too kindly advise.
