hi PMM,
i have applied for PR from CHC LONDON and i got my AOR in FEBRUARY 2008.
it is a long wait, i think abt two years but i was thinking of coming to canada on a student visa.
my consultant advised me to choose a degree program so that i ll have better chance of getting a visa.
i was refused a TRV visa because of my student status in UK.
can u give me any advice.
i am a genuine student here in UK, about to finish my course in JUNE. However, since i have wanted to immigrate to Canada, i have been thinking its better to go and study there while my PR is being processed as this will greatly increase my chance to get a proper job rather than me going there with my UK education and struggling to find a good job.
also, i have been able to provide 4 years of work experience, 2 part time and two full time.
however, i was always being paid by cash and we had to sign for that as my employer wasnt a big company, just a family owned electro-furniture shop.
i am planning my uncle to show me he will sponsor me as well as my cousin in toronto will accommodate me .
can u kindly give me some advice?
also, do u think i can apply simultaneously to quebec and federal skilled worker.
a lawyer at campbell cohen said i can apply for both.
needing your help .
Thanking you and God Bless :)

1. Last things first, you can't have two federal applications at the same time, you can submit the Federal application, and apply to MICC for a CSQ, IF you receive the CSQ then you have to convert your SAP application to a full application with the CSQ.
2. If you only have a student status in the UK and the course is finished, you might find it difficult to convince CHC that you will return home after the end of your course.
3. The work, is not 4 years as 2 years was part time you have to divide the number of hours worked by 1950 to find out how it equates to years, and it has to be continuous work for at least 1 year.
4. Are you sure the work was considered skilled, level A, B, or O in the NOC? Without a record of payment, it is going to be diifficult to prove the work experience.
5. If it is a "blood" uncle you will receive 5 points for adaptibility.

yeah , he is my uncle and he is ready to sponsor me .
plus the work experience is in the NOC. I did check it.
my employer will give me a statement though.
do u think that will be enough.
since it wasnt a big company, we used to get paid monthly by cheques and we had to sign for it.
thats what i mean.
what do u think i ll need to do to convince the immigration officer that my work experience as a bookkeeper is valid plus also what should i do to convince i ll come back home.
obviously if i am applying for immigration, i will sound stupid to convince i ll come back home.
apart from the fact the moment i receive my PR, i ll leave the country to re-enter it.
so yeah.
any advice ?
thanks
God Bless
