Advice - open work permit while PR under process - Help

Hi,

I am waiting a decision on my PR app and i left my job. I currently have a closed work permit (for my ex employer) that is due to expire in 8 months.

How can I get an open work permit? Do CIC really care if my work permit won't expire in 4 months?

1. You can't until your present work permit has less than 4 months to run. Yes they do care.
