Hi,
I have a few questions and looking for some advice here.
A bit of background on me as this is the first time I am using this forum to post, although I have been reading the posts for some time. I am born and bred in the United Kingdom and have always been interested in a move to Canada. I work as a Part Qualified Accountant in CIMA and have over 6 years worth of experience in accounting in the oil and gas industry. I have a Bachelors degree in Business and Management from a well known British University and an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from CIMA having sat all the papers up to Management level and currently started the strategic level. I have also sat an English test at IELTS and scored over 8 in all functions. My brother has only just got his permanent residency having worked in Canada for 2 years for a well known Top 4 firm.
Anyhow, I would like to emigrate in the Financial Accountant and Auditor category. Would this be possible as a part qualified accountant with a university degree, or is the top certification/credentials needed from CIMA? The plan is to finish off my CIMA and convert to a CPA designation.
In terms of proof of funds, I am being paid a bonus by my employer that will cover the $12,000 CAD. Will this work when making the application, or will I have to wait 6 months for this to average out?
I also own a property that I have a mortgage on, and then plan is to rent this property out in the UK, not sell it. Will this be considered as funds for the Canadian authorities, or not count?
Do I need to have everything in place now before submitting an application, or do I wait for the Invitation to Apply stage? I am referring to Police Checks, Funds, Education Assessments etc. I did spend a whole year in Australia in the past and 3 months in New Zealand so wondering if this is worth requesting those checks done now.
and lastly, what do you think will happen in terms of being granted extra CRS points by the system for having a sibling who is a well established PR. I know Justin Trudeau stated this when coming in to government.
Thanks in advance for all your advice.
