Hi,
I am currently in BC awaiting PR in a implied status--hopefully should get PR by November 2018. I am from the USA where I attained my Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. I have worked as an engineer in the states for 10 years. I would like to work as an Engineer in Canada and was hoping to get some advice or pointers on navigating through the process. I have read through the EGBC site and can see it is a very lengthy process. I was wondering:
1) How difficult is it to get licensed considering my background?
2) I read it might be easier to apply for P.Eng in a different province and then get it transferred. Where does BC stand in difficulty level?
3) Should I apply as an EIT first, then P.Eng? and why?
4) Should I go ahead and apply for a Non Resident P. Eng or wait for PR and apply as a P.Eng?
5) How likely is my 10 years of experience going to count towards the 4 years experience requirement ?
6) Is it possible to get the 1 year Canadian Environment experience waived ?
7) Is there anything I should be looking into? Any tips , etc?
8) Can you please share your experiences going through this process?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
