Advice needed

Hi, All

I'm getting 72 from assessment test - does it worth applying? Even if there is minimum requirement of 67, do they really take applicant around 70? Or do they take only top ones (like those who have greater than 90)? Any advice? Anyone has positive result with such a point?

Also, I have a problem with funds: Can I apply with less fund than required and promise that I'll have minimum required fund during the processing period? I am a co-founder (co-owner) of a software company - how can this help me in proving that I can fund my family? Does it help? Any advices?

Thanks you for your answer and encouragement.

cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp states:
You will need to provide proof of your funds to the Canadian visa office in your home country when you submit your application for immigration.

Doesn't this mean that I have to show my fund at the beginning of the process. But still wondering if they accept the full fund to the end of the process?
Rules are rules, but still there sit people and do/can they subjectively accept this kind of exceptions?

What was your point while applying? Besides proving your funds to visa office, you also have to prove to an officer at the airport?

The whole point of showing you have the required amount of "unencumbered funds" (meaning it is YOUR money, not a loan) when you apply, is to prove to CIO that you can afford to live in Canada until you are able to find a job. The amount you are required to have is very reasonable considering the cost of living in Canada, and by no means would it provide for a family more than the basics of living. There are no financial handouts to Skilled Workers, so you have to come prepared to finance your life in Canada. You need to have 3-6 months of bank statements showing you have the minimum amount of funds for the number of people who are coming to Canada with you. I doubt the application would pass the first approval without it. You may also be required to prove that they are your funds and where they came from. Finally, you have to bring those funds to Canada when landing. Good Luck and I hope this helps.

Meant to add, have you read the post by JITZ, "Cost of Living in Canada"? You may find it a good resource.

Pippin,
Thank you very much for your answer. I changed my mind and decided to collect needed money before applying.
Also I've lived in Toronto for 14 months, a left 11 months ago - so I know (more or less) about the cost of living in Canada (Toronto)

You need to have 3-6 months of bank statements
Do we have to to show the statement for the 3-6months duration? Or can I show just bank account statement showing the balance?
(It does matter, since I'm going to deposit most of the money on last months - and they might think that I borrowed the money from someone )

A statement from the bank is generally not enough.
It needs to be a Bank a/c statement.

Also a regular built-up' of funds in ur account is what they look for in the a/c statement.

A sudden flush of funds is seen with doubt,,,but one can be lucky as well

Good Luck!!
