Advice needed (statutory questions)

Hello all,

I just received my ITA and I'm really stoked. There is however one issue that's getting me worried. A couple of years ago, my aunt, in her FSW application, listed me a dependent child. The VO was not satisfied that I meet the criteria for dependent child since my aunt didn't adopt me before I turned 18. Hence, I was removed from the application, denied the visa whilest the rest of his family were issued visas.

Due to this problem, I'm not certain how to answer the statutory question about whether I've been denied visa to Canada. Technically, it was my Auntie's application, not mine but i was the one who got rejected. I'm in a fix right now as I fear answering "no" would be tantamount to a misrepresentation which would obviously earn me a rejection and a 5year ban.

I would really appreciate your advice, especially from someone who's been in a similar situation or has in depth knowledge on the issue.

Thanks in advance

You were refused. You need to answer yes and explain the details. Provided you say yes and explain - I don't see why this should be a problem.

from what i understand your Aunt's application is not related to yours in any way , and you should be good , wait for others to post their opinions on this though
