Hi All

Me, my wife and 2 years daugther are all Permenant resident and have PR cards with us. we are currently living in abu dhabi and yet to relocate in mid june in 2014 back to canada after staying 3 years outside canada. we are expecting our second child due next year in abu dhabi. question is how we can have this child travel with us back to canada???? do we apply child's visit visa from london where our PR applications were processed or contact canadian consulate/emb in UAE so that he/she can travel with us to canada and then apply for PR while we are in canada or apply PR while staying in abudhabi??? I need complete information as my info is limited.

Thanks

Hi Minnesota,

You should obtain a visitor visa (TRV) from Canadian consulate in UAE for the child before your travel. As you are already a Canadian PR, London office has nothing to do in this matter.

When you are back in Canada you should file the sponsorship application for your child.

If a child is born to a PR out side Canada, the father or mother should be present in Canada while sponsoring the child. You cannot do the sponshoship while you are in UAE or any place out of Canada.

When you are landing with your child on visitor visa, you should tell the BSA that you are going to sponsor your child at the earliest and therfore request for an extnded period for your child. Usually the visitor status will end within 6 months.
