I just want to know your thoughts about the recent changes in processing of PNP applications that it has to be submitted at CIC in Nova Scotia instead in the country of applicant country of residence to decrease application processing time. Will it really lessen the processing time to think the CIC will be attending to a lot of applications from different countries?

Just my thoughts :)

Hi. I can't really say what advantages there are if we submit our Permanent Resident Visa application in Nova Scotia rather that in the visa office serving our respective countries. I see more of a disadvantage really. First. it is more costly to send documents abroad rather than locally, either via regular or registered mail or via courier. Second, if we lack documents in the application, our papers will be returned to us. We have to resubmit it, with the lacking documents enclosed. Of course, we spend for the mail or courier for the 2nd time. All these will cause a significant delay in the processing time.

On the contrary, if we will be submitting our papers in the visa office serving our country, the cost of mail/courier is much less. Usually if there are lacking documents, the visa office will just get in touch with the applicant and ask for whatever documents are needed, without returning our papers to us. This normally wouldn't take much time to accomplish and the expenses would be manageable compared otherwise.

Unfortunately, CIC wants us to submit all PNP PRV applications to the Central Intake Unit in Sydney, Nova Scotia and we have no choice but to follow their rules.
