Hello everyone,

My wife (Canadian) is sponsoring me (USA) to come to Canada.

Just a quick (albeit) silly question. For the Additional Family Information (IMM 5406) form, it says:

This form must be completed by:

You, as the principal applicant,
Your spouse or common-law partner (whether accompanying you to Canada or not)

So...I know that I am supposed to fill one out (im the PA)...but does my wife (sponsor) need to fill one out too? Also, I am the only one she is sponsoring. But, do my other family members (mother, father, sisters and brothers) need to fill one out as well even though they are NOT coming to Canada?

I appreciate any and all help, everyone! thank you!!

No, only the principal applicant (You) need to fill this form.

By family members, they mean if you have any children. Your siblings and parents are not required to fill this out.

Your wife is not required to fill this out because IMM-5406 isn't listed in her required documents checklist.

CofRed: Got it! Thank you for clearing this up! It's really appreciated. I just had to ask. I dont want to assume and end up getting this application rejected. thank you, again!

Your wife can be listed on your form, because she is part of your family. ;)

This has been a topic of debate, because many people list their spouse/partner (sponsor), while others do not. There doesn't appear to be a straight answer as to whether or not they should be listed.

Don't forget to list any half/step siblings that you might have.

I listed her (spouse) automatically. I can see how that may appear to be a trick question. As far as half/step siblings go, I do have one and I did list him. Thank you for your help! :D
