Hello,

I am preparing my file to apply as a skilled worker.

I have 2 major questions now:

1- The Additional Family Information [IMM 5406]:
I finished it for myself. I have to make another one for my wife but I cannot find a "special" for for her as the case of [IMM 0008]. If I will use the same form, who will be the applicant and who will be the spouse??

2- In [IMM 0008] - Schedule 3, there is a question (#10) for the available funds. I am currently a PhD student in the the university of Toronto, and depend completly on the scholarship from my department (CAD 25000 annulay). I can provide a proof of continuos stipend for all my study duration (4 years starting Jan 2007). Is this proof for my scholraship enough? if so, how should I answer this question?

Thank you in advance

1. You complete one as the applicant and she completes one as the applicant.
2. Proof of funds, you must submit evidence of savings to show that have the required settlement funds depending on the size of your family, if there are only 2 you require $12, 659.00

Hello Abuzeyad,
Which imiigration class you are applying to?
Since you are a student there, I think you are eligible for post qualification workpermit after your education. When you have workpermit, you donot need proof of funds.
Secondly I think you can apply for provicial nomination.
These are quick ways of immigration.
Thanks
Cool

Hi Cool,

I am planning to apply as a skilled worker.

I have arrived here in Canada n January 2007 and started my PhD in the same time. I have study permit and have NO "work permit".

What do you mean by "post qualification workpermit"???

Also how can I apply for provicial nomination??

Of course, I hope I can find any faster way.

Thank you
Ahmed

Hi PMM,

Thank you for your answers.

Regarding the funds, is there any way around to submit evidence of savings????
As I told you, We are already settled in Toronto.

Have you seen the reply from "Softncool"? Do you think that I can apply under any other category (other than skilled worker)?

Thank you again and sorry if I am bothering ith repeating questions.

Regards
Ahmed

Refer to your other post you have assigned yourself points, in adaptability you have given your self points for Canadian Daughters.
Does this mean your wife is a Canadian Citizen (permanant resident)
If this is the case then you can apply under family class also.
Please read www.cic.gc.ca for details of all possible scenarios for you.
Thanks

No She isn't.

The requirement for settlement funds can be waived if you have a job offer. So it seems that a verifiable 25k scholarship might be afforded the same treatment.

I hope so
