Dear all,

When applying for a PR card renewal, are additional documents of proof of residence in Canada compulsory? It says on the official website that one of the additional document is

Photocopies of all pages of all passports you held in the past five (5) years (if your stamps are not in English or French, please have them translated, see section on Translation of documents),

which seems like a lot of work. Do we have to send in all these along with the application form? Or is it only necessary when they ask for it explicitly after applying?

Thank you!

Can anyone help? Thanks!
While I'm not sure if those items are absolutely mandatory, they are mentioned as being "required" in the Instruction Guide. That makes me believe that if you don't send in some sort of proof of residency (they specifically give transcripts as an example), you are likely to encounter a ton of questions and a "secondary review" in all likelihood. So your best bet is to send in all copies and translations of your passport pages. But don't overdo it. They ask for only "one of the items listed" for proof of residency (such as the transcripts). So send in the passport pages and ONE additional proof.
