I submitted my profile for express entry as single / never married and got invite under CEC category. I'm planning to get in a month, how do I add my spouse to my IT?

If you have received the ITA, your profile gets locked in the system and you will need to write to IRCC to add your spouse to the application. However, if you add your spouse before you submit your application, it will lead to a re-calculation of your CRS points. If the recalculated score falls below the minimum score when the invite was issued to you, it could lead to a rejection. However, if you submit after e-APR, your CRS points do not get recalculated.

At this stage, it is your call when to add your spouse. Generally, if you add your spouse to the application after e-APR, IRCC will give you 30 days to gather all the documents for your spouse and submit it (the timelines will differ now because of COVID).

If you are not too worried of the decrease in points at this stage (Post-ITA), it is best to do add your spouse for ease of tracking, planning, and approval.

All the best!

Wonderful. Thanks much @daveishan

I will contact IRCC,
1) If I do post-ITA, will I be able to submit my spouse's documents as well by online? Or need to do that by paper?
2) will I get any additional days for documents gathering if I add my spouse Post-ITA ? I'm planning to get married on Oct-30, last date to submit my e-APR is Nov-19. It will be too tight for us to get the marriage certificate, PCC and medical for my fiancee.

1. Remember, you can only avoid a points recalculation if you actually get married after submitting your e-APR. If you get married beforehand but don't tell IRCC until after in order to avoid having your CRS score recalculated, you will be refused for misrepresentation.
2. No, and see above, i.e. if your wedding is on October 30, you should be planning to submit your e-APR before that date.

I agree with @primaprime ; all documents need to be submitted online only.

For delays in submissions, you can provide LOE for each missing document. Because of COVID, IRCC is allowing upto 90 days to submit documents too. However, the rule can be applied subjectively by them.

For anything that is genuinely missing because of COVID-related closures, IRCC will consider it so do not be too worried about it. At this stage, please calculate your points and see what the score is coming too.

If you need your spouse's points then you will need WES certification and reference letters for your spouse too. I know it sounds to be a complicated situation but will get clearer as you proceed.

All the best!
