Adding spouse after CoPR

Hello,

I would like to share a scenario about my friend here and get some ideas, as its really complicated and needs to be sorted out with some exert opinion.

My friend received a CoPR and visa couple of months ago snd got married recently, but there’s a huge dilemma. He actually emailed CIC explaining about his marriage and open the application to add his spouse.
Now after getting married for sometime, he found out that his partner is not loyal to him and deciding to divorce. Can he still be able to make changes to the CIC application and enter Canada on his CoPR and Visa he received when he was single?
Any help on this will be really appreciated!

There's a missing clarification between requesting CIC to add spouse and divorce. Did CIC agreed or already added? I don't think it will be any issue as long as the divorce is legally accepted by all partners and able to produce a document to prove the same.

If spouse has already been added in to the application, then he has to inform CIC again and provide proof of divorce before getting an new COPR and visa. Even if spouse is not yet added, he has to inform CIC of the divorce and provide the proof for the same and wait for CIC to respond.
