Hi everyone,

I’m currently in the process of adding my common-law partner to my PR application after receiving my AOR (submitted under Express Entry with MPNP nomination). We’ve prepared the following forms for submission via webform:

  • IMM 5409 (Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union)
  • IMM 0008 (Generic Application Form)
  • IMM 5406 (Additional Family Information)
  • IMM 5662 (Schedule A – Background/Declaration)
Here’s where I’m confused:

  1. Do we need to print these forms, physically sign them, and then scan them to upload via the webform?
    • I’ve read in some discussions that physical signatures may no longer be required for some forms since everything is digital now, but this is for online submissions, not webforms.
  2. I tried typing my name in the signature field of the forms (e.g., IMM 0008), but it doesn’t seem to allow it.
Since we’re submitting through the webform and uploading PDFs, should we:

  • Print, sign manually, and then scan the forms?

You need to declare your common law partner and you will be requested all the required additional documents. No need to fill up all the forms upfront , it won't expedite the process.

As for the forms, the ones that don't have a validation button, should be printed out and signed physically.
