I am currently in the process of applying for the Federal Skilled Worker program under the Express Entry system. I have a question regarding the adaptability points awarded for previous Canadian work experience.

My situation is as follows:

- I have several years of work experience as a registered nurse in my country

- Additionally, I have worked for one year in Canada as a cook in a full-time position.

I would like to confirm whether my one year of Canadian work experience as a cook would allow me to claim points under the ‘Canadian work experience’ section of the adaptability factors in the FSW program, even though my primary occupation is different.

It doesn't really matter in which noc code you gained the experience, requirement is one year full time experience or equivalent in part time employment, usually the best way to verify this is through providing pay stubs and T4s.
