Acknowledgment from Visa Office for Outland applicants

Hi,

Do Outland applicants receive acknowledgement by mail once PR Application is transferred to respective Visa Office (here in my case, it is New Delhi) from CPC-Missisauga.

I have received Sponsoship approval letter in Jan and I am wondering if my wife receives any Acknowledgement from New Delhi office after it picks up for processing.

Hi udaykm,

The sponsorer will get word from CIC Missisuga that they have been approved as a sponsor. They will then get a Client ID #. After that, the sponsorer receives no info regarding the case but can check on the process of the PR applicant file via ecas.

Once the file has been sent to the embassy of the PR applciant only the PR applicant will get letters, phone calls, etc from the embassy... UNLESS... you go for an interview and they follow up with the Sponsorer regarding info of the interview.


The PR appliant should receive a AOR (acknowldgement of reciept - pls mind my spelling) saying that the embassy has received the file on such and such date and usually the AOR has a Immigration #.

Different visa offices have different ways of processing the applications. Some visa offices always send the AOR letter, some never and others sometimes do, sometimes don't.

New Delhi usually does not send the AOR letter, so it's possible that you will not hear from them until you get the passport request letter or when they need something else from you. On the up side though, New Delhi is one of the fastest visa offices out there, which is probably why they skip the AOR letter

Same with London - Many do not get an AOR - we did not get an AOR when we came to Canada from London Embassy and it was due to our processing time being only a few months.

It does seem that countries with longer processing times are the ones who get AOR's. Even then some do get AORs and some dont!

So unpredictable huh.....
