Acknowledgement receipt 18 Nov 2012 but still nothing on ecas

I received acknowledgement dated 18 Nov 2012 but still see nothing on ecas. I have tried calling multiple times but never able to get through, is there a good time to call? Because of the delay in processing citizenship applications I also sent in forms for PR Card renewal in June and I have received nothing relating to that application either, it too is not showing up on ecas.

In another thread there was a suggestion that it was possible to 'opt out' of online updates and therefore not see anything on ecas. I really don't believe I would have done this, especially not for two separate applications, but is there any way I can check such a setting?

I applied late October and my eCAS looks the same as yours. Even though I got an RQ. Don't worry and count on not seeing anything until you get your test letter.

When entering your client ID, make sure you have a dash after the fourth digit.

Just to be clear when I say I see nothing on ecas I mean I get the "We were not able to identify you using the information you provided" message. Is that what you saw as well?

Yes tried with and without dash (actually it prompts with dash missing) also tried using the receipt number as identifier with same result.

Well I actually managed to get through to an agent at CIC today and they were able to confirm my application is in process. Interestingly they suggested that if I couldn't see my information online then it must mean that their web site is broken. I didn't really push the discussion much because all I really wanted was confirmation that the file is being process and advice on how to accelerate my PR renewal due to impending travel. But no mention from this particular agent of anything I had done or might be doing that would prevent me from seeing status online.
