Hi I sponsored my spouse in Pakistan and received letter of acknolwedgment which was dated July 22, 2010. I am wondering when my spouse is suppose to receive a letter of acknolwedgemnt from Islamabad.

Also, I am concerned that maybe the letter was sent to my spouse from Islamabad, but knowing how bad paki mail system is, maybe my spouse did not recieve it...if that is the case, would it be a problem?

How long does it usually take for the person being sponsored to receive acknowledgement letter

please let me know...im a little worried!!

It depends on what part of the process you are on. If you just sent your application and just now got the letter saying you have been accepted as a sponsor then your spouse will not get the letter. Its only the sponsor that receives it. This is the statement saying you have been approved to sponsor your spouse so its only the sponsor who gets that letter. Now the file moves to the visa office where your spouse lives and any letters will only be sent to them. I hope I didnt confuse.

Thank you for your response, I know I as the sponsor receive letter of acknowledgement, BUT sometime after this, my spouse is also to receive a letter from the Islamabad visa office, saying that the file has been received etc. I just dont know in which time frame that is to happen.

So i am wondering if anyone can tell me,the time frame...PLZ HELP!

Dont worry at all, in my case we never received any letter of acknowledgement, but on e-cas status showed "in process" after 1 month. And later i sent one email to CHC asking about the AOR, they confirmed it by return email that my file has been received and it is under process...

I only recieved two letters, one from Ontario saying my Sponsorship was Approved, then one from Moscow saying they have started processing our application as of June 29, 2010. My Wife (In Moscow) never recieved any letters so it's normal.

One thing to note they just updated all the processing times; (July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010)

guess I can't post the link..

The average time to process went up by two months for Moscow :(

Thanks for your reply, but just wondering what is eCas, CHC and AOR mean...?
Ecas is an online option to check your application status. You input your client ID and other details and you will be able to see where in the process you are. You can find it here: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en

AOR means "Acknowledgement of Receipt" meaning a letter that they send stating they have received the application.

I think the poster meant to put "CIC" which is Citizenship (and) Immigration Canada.

Hope that helps :)

I am extremely scared, have been reading on ISB cases, and it seems to be taking some people 14 months, I just hope everything goes well for me and happens sooner, rather than later...

hi and welcome to the forum.

well since you have got the approval for the sponsorship from cpc, you will be getting you AOR pretty soon inshallah. it normaly takes 2 months for the aor to come in the meanwhile what you can do is collect around 20-30 pics of your wedding showing rukhsati, reception, walima and pics of dinners attending by both together plus properly label(name of people in the pic, where it was taken on what date and the occasion) the pictures.....the pictures should have both of you along with your families....

With the acknowledgement letter they will also send you a supplementary information form that you have to fill out.....it is also avalable on this forum as well

So my friendly advice is ti fill it out in advance so you may not have any delays in sending off the documents once you have received your AOR.
if i can find the supplementary information form i will post it to your thread..

Sincerely,

Shaimaa

if you can provide me your email addrress i can mail you the form

it asks about your personal history and your travel history since the age of 15 for males and age 18 for females. Plus if you have ever served in Pakistan army then your service details.... this form is mandatory to be filled out for everybody who is applying for the family class visa specifically for the spouse

Great Person wellcome, Your wife will receive AOR very soon INSHA ALLAH, mean time you can check your file status online at www.cic.gc.ca and use the file number assign to you in the letter you have received.

I suggest you dont send too many emails or supporting documents to CHC except those you have sent already with your application.

A common problem we have with our community is that we think supplying as many as we can supporting documents will help where as it is not TRUE,infact it delays process because they check every single documents and some time it may go against you if the officer is kind a picky person.

In my case I have done only NIKKAH, I have supplied only what they have asked for,In addition this week I am going to send them a few financial documents which indicates my profile & my spouse profile and spouse name as beneficery from major Canadian Financial Institue.Hope it will satisfy them and thats it will not send anything else unless they ask for.So keeping the file simple make your life easy and immigration officer work easy.

Cheers
