Accompany a non-Canadian through airport immigration?

Hi.

I'm a Canadian living and working in Ecuador, and recently got a TRV for my Ecuadorian girlfriend to come with me for my sister's wedding in Canada this summer. Since she doesn't speak English (or French), I acted as her representative when applying for the visa.

We will be travelling together to Canada, but I'm wondering what we will do when we arrive at the airport in Montreal. Will they let me go with my girlfriend through customs and immigration, or will they make me go through the line for Canadian citizens? I will bring the Use of a Representative form with me to show them, which I believe says that I can speak to CBSA on her behalf (if I'm not mistaken).

I'm also wondering what documents we should bring with us. We were lucky to get the visa, since she is not working and has no money (she's studying for a government test in June to enter university in Ecuador in the fall). For the application, we submitted a letter from my parents saying that they will be responsible for all costs, along with their employment and banking information. We also submitted a letter from my employer and from my landlord saying that I will be returning to Ecuador for the duration of my contract. If we bring the same documents we used for the visa application to show the immigration officer, we should be fine? I will also write a letter for her to give to the immigration officer explaining the situation, in case I can't go through the line with her. We'll be arriving on an Aeromexico flight, so maybe immigration will have Spanish interpreters around?

Thanks!

Yes, you can walk together to the CBSA screening as you are "travelling together".... but also they have people that speak the language according to the incoming flight so you are covered.

I have a related/similar query. As a Canadian flying in to Canada with my non-Canadian (TRV holder) wife and in-laws, can they accompany me through the 'Citizens' line, or do I have to (and can I) accompany them through the non-Citizens' line?
