academic ielts, is it accepted by cic

Hello sir,
I am applying for immigration under one of the trade categories "skilled workers - federal" the ielts requirement says it needs General test scores " but I gave the academic test unfortunately. Is this still acceptable to cic ? Or i have to take the general Ielts test again ?

please advise...

They have just decided that academic is now also acceptable so you are in luck.

Note: For the IELTS reading and writing tests, there are ‘General Training’ and ‘Academic’ options. CIC only requires to have their proficiency assessed by the ‘General Training’ test but will also accept the results of the ‘Academic’ test. .
