Did an upfront medical last year, exact thing happened to me. They requested medical had to do it again. No upside to upfront medical.

Thanks to your feedback. Will not opt for an upfront medical. I will just wait a medical request letter from the embassy.

A friend applied from VFS Qatar on April 12th and she recieved her visa on June 15th. VFS Qatar sent her passport to get visa printed and stamped from the Canadian embassy in Poland once approval was recieved from the Abu Dhabi embassy. Your passport will be sent to a different country since the passports can't be shipped to the UAE, but this shouldn't affect applications or timings. You can contact VFS Qatar to confirm this, the blockade doesn’t affect or slow down your visa process.
