I am in a tricky situation.
I am an Indian passport holder residing in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
I received the e-mail on 26th August 2017 to submit my documents at the Abu Dhabi VFS office, including my passport and that of my wife and daughter. I submitted the same on the 27th. Visa office staff told me that I will get them back within 14 days. It's been almost 22 days now and still no update.
My wife and 3 month old daughter are in India for vacation and I have to travel back to India so that I can accompany them on the return journey and have already booked the tickets. I mentioned at time of submission that I will be travelling on the 21st of October and will need the passports and was assured that I will be receiving the passports before that. But last week I went to their office and they mentioned that it takes 30 days.
Is there any way I can collect the passports for the time being and resubmit them back once we return.
The tricky part is that my wife's UAE visa is due for renewal on the 18th of Oct., so even if I resubmit once I return, it will take a lot of time for them to process the PRTD.
Has anyone faced a similar situation and can you please help me to figure this out.
1) Is it allowed to collect the passports before getting the PRTD and what is the process for that? Are we required to provide any proof/documents to support the application and will it hamper my application in any way? I fear that if I request for my passports before the stamping, they might reject my application entirely.
2) If I am able to collect my passports before getting the PTRD, is there a time limit to submit the same back. Because I am planning to come back on the 6th of Oct., apply for my wifes UAE visa renewal and submit the passports again by the 25th of Oct, as UAE visa stamping process will also take some time. Also, will I be required to pay the fees again?
I visited the VFS office for clarifications and I did not get satisfactory answers and am more worried than I was before.
