Absent day count if I am travelling for work

Hi,

Can I count days I am physically not in Canada due to work trips to US? I was convinced that it doesn't count but I tried searching for it and now I am confused.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't count, pretty clearly described in CIC documents
