Hi everyone,

My spouse' one year work anniversary is on August 8th, 2017. We currently have CRS of 408 but unfortunately, our IELTS results expire on August 1st, 2017. The earliest available spots to re-take the exam in our city is on August 29th. Should we still go ahead and update the EE profile on the one-year work experience in Canada? This would basically update our score and will possibly get invited on the next round in mid-August. We will, of course, re-take the IELTS on the 29th and hope to get the same or higher scores

Any suggestions?

IRCC clarified that you must maintain a score equivalent to or higher than the lowest ranked candidate invited to apply in the round that you received ITA.

You can always decline an ITA if you decide that you won't have sufficient points.

I don't recall, do you have to input the date that you took the test when you enter your IELTS scores? If so, your profile might automatically become ineligible when your scores expire.

If not, no difference - you have to meet the minimum entry requirements at the time of the ITA, which includes having valid IELTS scores. You won't be eligible until you receive your new test scores, so even if you did receive an ITA, it would not be valid.

You might consider taking the CELPIP instead, if you can book a test date sooner -
