What kind of open work permit? Spousal? PGWP? You can't just apply for a new permit because the first one expired. Based on what you've said I would advise you to withdraw the application and apply for a new permit based on your nominee certificate.
Hello,Sir. It seems you know a lot about permit topics, so could you please have a look at my issue and give me some suggestion..
My situation is that: I graduated May, 2014 and then I applied for a post-graduate work permit immediately. After I got the work permit in June, 2014, I started my full-time job. In February, 2015, I submitted application for Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program(MPNP). But now, my post-graduate work permit is expiring June, 2015 and my MPNP application has not been approval.
With my existing work permit going expiring, I have to apply a new one. However, when I log in CIC website and try to apply for an extension, I can't get access to it. After the questionnaire, the application system says I can apply for a "Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa) Made Outside of Canada (IMM5257)" which I think is definitely not what I need!!! There must be something wrong, but I just can't understand and work it out. I can't not get access to the work permit extension page, unless I mark my status as "I am a Provincial Nominee"...
Soo, my question is what should I do? Should I just wait until my MPNP is approval and then apply for the extension? Or, I should apply immediately for a visitor permit instead?
