Does the "one year" refer to 12 months OR 52 weeks??

In the official site, it always mentions 12 months, but not weeks.

Just to make sure the following:

If my Letter of Employment writes 1-July-2017 to 30-June-2018, then I think this should be counted as one year. I will be eligible for CEC AND get the corresponding points (work experience in Canada) in CRS ranking.

Right?

many thanks!!

Hi Kamiyu,

The number of weeks between the above-mentioned dates r 52 weeks. So you don't worry unless you have less than 1560 hours.

But how come you got offer of employment for July-2017 now itself. Just kidding ;D :p

LOL, that is exactly 1 year = 12 months =52 weeks.

It's true the site mentions 12 months, but the "denomintator" in calculations is weeks, because "full time" is defined as "30 or more hours per week." So it's more useful to think in terms of 52 weeks when counting partial years.

Thanks all.

I know this question may seem a bit silly but this is something I must have confirmed before making my plans.

Any mistake will cost me 1-2 years' time :-X
