So i am an self-employed just started to do some trading business in 2014. In 2014 i only had 36000 of iincome

But in 2015 it was much better which is like 80000 - 90000.

So i am planning to apply for sponsorship for my parents. I have a daughter so it should be family size of 5. I am guessing their requirement for 2015 will be at least 70000 for size of 5.

So i will need to report at least 70000 of income for 2015.

My question is

- they will need to look at total income, NOT taxable income right? Which means my total income meets their requirement, but maybe after some taxable deduction taxable income is much lower, is that ok?
- i might have another kid in 2016, so total family size will be 6. Government needs to look at 3 year income with certain faimly size. in my case, if my income meet the requirement for 5 people in 2015 but then 6 people in 2016 and 2017, is this ok? or i have to meet income of 6 people for 2018 and apply?
- my wife is also in Canada now and applying for spousal immigration. Will it be better (lower tax) if i split the 80000 income between me and her ? so totaled income will be enough to meet the requirement for size of 5 people but we paid less tax?

Thank you people!

First of all, if your income was too low in 2014 - then the earliest you'll be able to apply is 2019 (not 2018). You must provide tax return statements as part of your application package. And to apply in 2018 - you would need to provide tax statements for 2014, 2015, and 2016 (since the 2017 returns won't be available yet). So 2019 is the earliest possible year you can apply.

1) Yes - they look at total income.
2) You will have to meet income of 6 people for three years in a row (2014, 2015 and 2016) in order to apply in 2018 (assuming you have another child)
3) No - it doesn't really work that way.
