In order to qualify for admission into Huron College, you will require
A minimum High School Diploma (12th Grade) or higher
A preferable TOEFL Score of 500 (PBT, paper based) or 170 (CBT, computer based); or IELTS overall score of 5.5, with no single test score below 5.0; or MELAB score of 65; or English studies at the advanced level (Not applicable to ESL programs and lower scores or acceptable to some of the programs. Upon approval of the application, the applicant must pay the minimum tuition fee to obtain the Admission Letter which is required by the Canadian Government Embassy / Consulate to process your student visa application.

The Process
The college has four intakes in a year i.e. Jan, Apr, Jul and Oct. The application cut off date for each intake is one month before the class start date. International Students need to apply at least 3 months in advance to allow enough time to prepare all the documents required to submit the study permit application to the Canadian Embassy.

This is followed by 250 CAD application fee either by a draft payable to Huron College of Management, Technology and Health Care or wire transferred directly to the college's account.
2. Once we receive the application along with the application fee and the documents listed below, the admissions department will process and let you know if you are accepted into the program. Once accepted you will receive an offer letter and a login ID and Password.
3. Once you have the ID and Password you can log on to our ICAPS(Internet-based College Aadministration and Processing System) and monitor your progress from admission process on to the graduation stage in real time through the members log in area.
At each step you will receive an e-mail with further instructions or to inform you of your updated status.
The minimum fee of 25% of the total cost of the program applied and the documents listed below are required upon enrollment to issue the acceptance letter. The balance can be paid on the start date of the class.

The acceptance letter and other relevant documents will be sent to the student upon the receipt of the minimum fee of the program applied. The college admission department takes a minimum of seven business days after receiving all the documents to process your application and to issue an Initial Offer Letter. However it depends on the completeness and accuracy of your application forms and whether you have submitted all the requested documents and fees. The Study Permit process at the Canadian Embassy may vary between 3 weeks to 6 weeks depending on the country you are applying from and if you require a medical examination. Therefore ensure that your application for a study permit is complete and accurate and that you have submitted all requested documents along with your application. .

If the student is sponsored by a corporation or funded by a government agency, the college will determine the payment plan with the sponsor or loan office

A written request must be sent to our International Admissions department stating the reasons for withdrawal and the request must be received by the college within 21 days before the start of session. A charge will be withheld towards Registration, Application and Administration.

Written letter requesting a refund signed by the applicant

Medical Insurance
Medical costs are very expensive in Canada and are not covered by the government here for international students, hence Huron College strongly advises all international students to have their health insurance coverage in place for the period of their study session. Our student advisor will assist you in the process at your own expense. Upon request we arrange medical insurance to our students through our service providers. The medical insurance would cost approximately between CAD 50 and CAD 65 per month and there is a one time non-refundable set up fee of CAD 50.

The new Immigration and Refugee Protection Act came into effect on June 28, 2002. Terminology changes in the new act include "Student Authorization is now called a "Study Permit"; "Employment Authorization" is now called a "Work Permit" and "Temporary Resident Visa" is now called "Visitors Visa". Student Permit
Students interested in Studying in Canada require a "Student Permit" if the duration of the program they wish to study is more than six months. Once a letter of acceptance and admission letter has been received, the student should start the process of obtaining a student permit by going to the nearest Canadian Embassy, High Commission or Canadian Consulate closest to the country they reside in. Obtaining a Student Permit can take up to several months depending on your country of origin.
