The scenario I am inquiring about is as follows:
A person holds a valid U.S. visa in their passport from their home country.
This individual then applies for asylum in Canada and is granted permanent resident status (PR) through the Canadian asylum process.

My question is: Does applying for asylum in Canada automatically lead to the cancellation or invalidation of the U.S. visa in the person’s passport? Additionally, can the individual still use their U.S. visa to enter the United States using their passport from their country of origin after receiving Canadian PR status?
The visa was obtained in 2018 and is valid until 2028, but is this invalidate visa after seeking asylum in Canada in 2020.? Is there a place or phone number where I can check if my American visa is still valid? Should contact with American border?

You can send an email to the embassy/consulate that you got your visa from. Mine cancelled. After my refugee case approved a month later I received email from Ankara says that my visa cancelled/revoked. But I got my another 10 years visa from Toronto on my refugee travel document.

You do NOT want to use your countries passport

Remember you claimed asylum from that country. Telling Canada it could not protect you

People seriously have to read the room
