About being dependent

I arrived in Canada 3 month ago. Me and my mom were sponsored by my brother. At the time of application i was a dependent. Since it took like 10 years to finish with a lots of hiccups in the middle i am now 26. I have my PR card now.
My question is am i a dependant or independent

an independant PR as far as no longer being a dependant of your mother given you are 26 and even if the old 22 age rule was in place you would no longer be a dependant.

Reasons: he is a permanent resident and not any dependent status and he is 26 years old.

true but still doesnt answer why a 26 year old needs to ask the question in the first place if the OP wants to share, maybe is just curiosity or looking to still be clasified as a dependant for some other reason.
