Hi, I was accepted in Humber but I am going to apply to the visa next week. Me and my husband have received money from our relatives, but the money has been in the account for almost 3 months. We’ve been told that the relative who gave us the money has to write a letter in which she has to explain the reasons she had to give us the money and that she does not want the money back. Do you think we will have problems on visa rejection for this topic? We are also showing the bank statement, the receipts that shows when the money was given to us. The other part of the money was given by another relative but she obtained it by a loan so I also have all the documents that proves this.

Thank you in advance, my classes starts on September so there is no space for refusal!

Yes, this can be an issue.

How distant are these relatives? How can you assure IRCC that they will not take the money back the minute you get a visa?

You'll need affidavits from both relatives stating they are willing to sponsor your studies and do not expect to get the money back. It's still going to set off red flags.

My husband’s mother and my sister. Don’t know what they can say to assure they are not taking the money back. Actually my sister pays everything and his mother has always been very supportive.

Those are very close relatives so that is good news. It would have been a bigger problem if this was some distant uncle.

Get an affidavit from both of them stating the following

  1. Introduction of sponsor

  2. Description of relationship with the sponsor

  3. Reason for sponsorship

  4. Amount of Sponsorship funds and length of sponsorship

  5. Source of Sponsorship funds

  6. Where the funds are currently held

  7. Your expectations as a result of the sponsorship

  8. Contact information and how your sponsor can be reached.

Also search this forum for "Sponsor letter", "Sponsor affidavit" and similar terms. You'll find lots of threads.

Not sure whether you are aware the spouses of international students are not guaranteed OWP. You may have to come to Canada on your own.

Yes we know, that is why we are getting all the required information so we can both travel together. If we are spouses we want to be together.

Hi,

I will be reapplying for the Study Permit next week and have a question regarding the bank statements. When I applied initially, my parents' bank statements showed a combined total of approx CAD 56,000. This was exactly two weeks ago. However, due to currency fluctuations here in Pakistan, although the balance remains unchanged, the amount in terms of today's rate translates to CAD 53,000. It is still above the minimum required (tuition is 38,000 + living 10,000) but could this be a potential problem? Should I write the same amount as my previous application?

Thank you in advance!

Not an issue. Currency fluctuations are normal and accounted for.

If the currency suddenly devalued by a huge amount (Venezuela, Zimbabwe), then it would be a problem. A normal day-to-day movement makes no difference.
