If I am not in Canada for 2 months, and CIC wants to send something by mail or contact someone(during this time), is it a good idea to put a mailing address of my brother and his phone number too?
CIC normally contact you through MyCIC and/ or email. I haven't heard that someone have received any letter at home address. And even in the emails they ask for any missing documents or any extra info which they need.
So I guess if you are out of Canada for just 2 months that should be OK.
