Abot visa on passport

Hi there, last year i came to Canada on one year work permit from India(expired 15/10/2017) , now i got new lmia from my employer and get my new work permit that i got this permit from Canada US border(for one year from 11/10/2017), they gave me immediately my work permit, now i need visa on my passport because I have to go to India for 2 months, i have to go as soon as possible, my consultant told me that when immigration will demand for passport we can submit then, I am very upset bcoz there are some problems in my family in india, please someone tell me that when i can submit my passport
