A Young Professionals permit that begins right after Working Holiday expires?

Hi,

I'm from Sweden and I'm currently living in Canada with a Working Holiday work permit. My permit is valid until September 2014, and when it expires I would like to continue to live and work in Canada. My only option to do so is to apply for a Young Professionals work permit. The applications for 2014 have not been opened yet, but it says on the IEC website for Swedish Citizens that only 100 people could apply for the Young Professionals in 2013. This makes me think that I should probably apply for the work permit as soon as the application opens up. From what I understand I need a job offer or a contract to apply for the Young Professionals, but, what I'm wondering is:

1. Since my current Working Holiday permit is valid until September 2014, does that mean that the job offer or contract must be starting in September 2014? Obviously I want to use my Working Holiday permit fully before I start a second year with a new permit.

2. I do have a job now, but I doubt that I will still work there in September 2014. But if I would find another job now that I'm certain that I will stay at for a longer time, could I use that to apply for the Young Professionals, even if I don't have a contract?

3. Because I don't want to wait too long to apply; How do I get a job offer or a contract to use to apply for Young Professionals, several months in advance of even starting that job?

I know it all sounds a little bit confusing but hopefully someone will understand what I'm trying to sort out.
Thanks!

I can't answer your other questions - but the Young Provessionals work permit is not your only option.

You could also find an employer (either your current or a different one) who is will to offer you a role and obtain an approved Labour Market Opinion. With the approved LMO you can then obtain a closed work permit.
