A skilled worker and a non-skilled worker

Hi guys

I would like some answers if that is possible on a certain subject.

My partner and me are planning on going on a long, working holiday to Canada from June 2011 to December 2011. She is has a honours degree in history and is training to be an adult literacy tutor. I have a Certificate of Higher Education in bioscience and forensics. I would be looking for non-skilled work while she would be looking for her skilled work.

I want to know which visa/visas we would have to apply for and would there be any problems with it.

We have enough savings together to get into the country. We are both UK born citizens. We both have clean criminal records and driving licenses.

Let me know, any other help or advice would be appreciated

Thank You

John

Your best bet is to look into the following program:

http://www.bunac.org/uk/workcanada/

Make sure you apply early. I believe they are now closed to applications but will open up again early next year.

Sorry - I just realized that I probably read your first post too quickly. Are you both full time students at this time or have you completed your studies? This will impact your ability to apply for the BUNAC program. Anyway, read through the BUNAC site. All of the info you need should be there. Good luck!

1. There are both student and non student working holiday programs from the UK.
2. There is a good chance that Bunac will NOT be handling the UK program for the WHP in January. See: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/work-travail/index.aspx

We have both completed our university studies and my partner is about to complete an adult literacy tutor course. We have looked at BUNAC but it doesn’t seem to offer plans for people in our positions, it only seems to be for full-time students. We would take a working holiday package if we could find a suitable one. As I said it’s only until December, and from then we will make a decision about immigration.
