::)hello all
MY name is Rania, I have applied for a TRV from lebanon to Canada.
I prepared all the documents needed and i included flight itinerary , as for one month in March
a bank account of 4000$ ( my savings over 2 years) for am a private tutor.
an invitation letter from my friend that is inviting me and providing me with accommodations because 'll be staying in her home in Calgary.
I applied and shockingly it was processed within 10 days. (average processing time here is 30 days)
I do not have ANY family ties in Canada..NONE..I just wanted to tour in Calgary and enjoy my time with my friend..not to mention shopping to spend my savings ;D
I do not know how I couldn't satisfy the visa officer that i will leave canada by the end of my stay!! ??? :-[ :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
I was SOOOO SHOCKEDDDD to see that it was refusedddd!! and why!!
bcz of travel history and unsatisfactory financial support!

I mean he should have approved bcz i dont have any ties in Canada, all my family is in lebanon.
I was wondering!! IS it because am a Muslim(wearing veil) and a Palestinian Refugee Claimant for 25 years in lebanon ( I was born with this statues) unfortunately!!!

Please Help me! I wana Re-apply again and again!!
DO I need to wait for any substantial change in my statues!! which I wonder what change should that be!!!

It can be more difficult to be approved for a visitor visa to Canada if you are relatively young, do not have a full time employer, do not have any immediate family in your home country (immediate family is your spouse and children) and haven't travelled to any or many other countries requiring visitor visas. The fact you have refugee status most likely didn't help your case.

A month is also quite a long trip. The CIC officer examining your file may have felt this demonstrated you didn't have strong ties to your home country. If nothing else, it certainly demonstrates that your job isn't a very strong tie since you can walk away from it for a month quite easily.

$4K was probably also on the low side for proof of funds. Somewhere in the $6K and above range would have probably been more appropriate.

What evidence did you show to prove you have ties to your home country? Have you visited any countries previously requiring visas?

as for the 4000$ ..that was wht i was able to save..
my statues n this country ..well!! lets say its what we were given (bad luck ID)
the proof for my family ties was the family profile paper i should provide along with the other documents...names,ages,residence,and jobs...and non would accompany me there

There could be many possibilities for VO accessing your case

1. Your travel history
2. Job and salary
3. Your intention (you've mentioned shopping, nobody comes to Canada to do "shopping" maybe Dubai but not Canada, prices and taxes of items are really high, Canada is really not a shopping destination)
3. Job security
4. You mentioned you will be living with your friend, this could also mean you have already established your ties to Canada
5. Your bank statement, $ 4000 is low end you might want to try $8000
6. Your length of stay, 1 month is really long, and not enough for the funds you've saved.

That's nonsense. Many Americans and other nationalities come to Canada for shopping, dining and other vacation activities.

But the OP is from Lebanon, and last time I checked my geography, unlike USA, Lebanon dosent share its border with Canada and neither is it a developed nation.

As far as winter clothes are concerned get from US icluding taxes and shipping, its much cheaper

To the OP, try explaining clearly your puropse of visit than mere shopping. The VO needs a clear picture of your travel plans.. Goodluck

1. A round trip flight from ticket Lebanon to Calgary depending on routing and number of stops is currently around anywhere from US 1.5K - 2K in economy/coach class which is a big chunk of your savings.....why would anyone spend that much on a flight for a 1 month vacation is the visa officer's rationale?

2. As advised the 'normal' North American vacation timeline is 2 weeks. One month is simply a red flag as it indicates you have idle time on your hands and are more likely to work illegally.

3. A generic going shopping doesn't help...the US 2K or so balance you have may not in the eye of the VO add up. The 'typical' shopper travelling all the way from the ME or any other transatlantic source country to Canada for such (as an incidental activity) including tourism is seemingly a 'wealthy' say GCC national on a spending spree. They also have a solid idea of the sights and places they will visit which are logical to the VO e.g if in Calgary will go to Banff, Lake Louise maybe a trip up to Drumheller for the dinosaur trail etc.

4. Your lack of permanent status in Lebanon means if you get bounced at the Canadian border the Lebanese can refuse to admit you and you end up back in Calgary. Or if you claim asylum (VO can't ignore the political situation in the area what with the Syrian crisis next door) and get removed where do you get taken to...Palestine?

5. Not sure of your income but if it took you 2 years to save US 4K then again in the eyes of the VO may view it as not a high enough income job to compel you to return home. Add to this you are a private tutor so its an easy enough job to give up as its self employment.

6. Your profile has red flags of an over stayer - not your fault but the VOs go with the law of averages and you are in the mix as far as they are concerned.

7. Sure re-apply but without strengthening your ties back home read some form of permanent immigration status guaranteeing entry and residence in Lebanon, better paying employment, spouse and kids, solid assets and savings, travel history to a 'first world' countries read EU, Oz, NZ it may be a no go. VO may take view that you desperately want to go to Canada and that they were right to bounce you.

8. Your religion is irrelevant to the application - the IRPA doesn't consider this..there are many Muslims getting Canadian visas if you go with the stats on the visa office websites in predominantly Muslim countries.

Good luck

Regards all!
I have re applied again and this time I included a cover that within it includes the reasons that will force me to leave canada...a paper stating an outline of a detailed 2 week plans only! And an invitation letter along with application kit...and this time I mentioned that am studying social science and still have my senior year to go... moreover u found out that I am considered legally a permenant resident in lebanon not a refugee
I expected to get a visa! But I was also rejected in 16 processing days!!
Thr reason this time was because I didnt include documentation of my host's income!
I mean give me a break!! Y didn't the officer mention that whn he rejected me the first time!! He included only my travel history and job and insufficient financial assets thr first time!!
Now I have to cancel a 1457$ ticket without a single refund!
all they want us to do is spend money on re-applying again and again..
Can anyone help me here

and one.more thing...about the bank statement! Can I also submit my father's bank statement and a paper in which he gives me permission to withdraw money from his bank account! Or it has to be just in my name!

Make sure you include your sponsors income, their bank statement, their status in Canada. This way you cover all bases. I think you should apply again
