a question reg. "filing date"

Hi All,

I have a question reg. what people give here as their "application filed date".
Is this the date when you guys mailed the application or when CIC started to work on your application?

I used the filing date as the date i recieved confirmation that CIC recieved my application. (From my courier company)

AOR is the date that CIC open the application.

Filing date is either the date when you mailed your application or the date CIC received your application. However for the purposes of CIC, filing date will be when CIC receives the application. A file is created for application and a Lock-In-Date is also established. Most of the time Date of receipt and Lock-In-Date is same.

AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt) is a letter mailed or sent via email by CIC confirming the receipt of your application. Date on AOR is not necessarily the same as the date application was received by CIC
