Hi there,
Not sure if this is a silly question but its been on my mind for a while so thought that you guys could shed some light.
With the simplified application process the applications are filed in the order they are received.
With all this talk about the new process that may be implemented for apps received after 27th feb '08, once the labour shortages have been identified, will the chc really have the time (or be bothered) to sift through all the apps in the backlog received before 27th feb '08?
My app. was sent in in Nov '07. Am I being really negative thinking that they will never get round to looking at my application with the new process coming in? I have this awful feeling that it may get lost in the 'old' processing queue and I will never know.
I'm really confused about the new and old application processing systems. Will they be looking at both sets of applications at the same time? And if its the labour shortage table that governs which ones are looked at first, do you really think they're gonna bother looking at forms they received months or years ago? (Or do they transfer the info onto computers so they can do quick searches)? I'm so unclear on how they deal with our apps. With all the correspondance i've had with them including visits, their system looks a bit prehistoric!
I apologise if I sound negative. I know they have tonnes of forms etc to look through but considering the number of applicants they have and the projected timescales, shouldn't they be employing more people to help bring the timescales down?
Also, does anybody know how accurate the timescales are? I can only see the timescales for 2007. Has this been updated for 2008? If so where can I find it?
Thanks guys. I hope you can help.
M
