A Question About 29 On Demand Jobs

Hi Everybdoy,
One of my friends wants to apply for immigration to Canada in skilled worker category. He has 2 years of experience in one of the 29 on demand jobs but his degree from the university is different than the job that he worked on and is not in the list of on demand jobs.(For example it is Masters in Metallurgy) Is he still eligible to apply?

my understanding is that he should be fine as long as his job duties match to one on the demand job.

Of course, someone can't claim to be a doctor with an engineering degree!
