“If your application was received on or after 19th October 2017, your application has not been processed.”
I have personally heard this message from IRCC since more than a week (including today). That sounds like a temporary backlog to me, however you may hear about next date in place of 19th October as the cut off or none in future.
After full implementation of C6 amendment it is obvious that there was/is a flood of application, which is also evident from the spreadsheet data maintained by the forum members here.
On top of that, now we can see people advising to reapply if someone didn’t get the AOR. Will it help or will it overwhelm the already saturated IRCC and push the backlog further?
My suggestion:
You have got a benefit of applying one year earlier than the applicants few months before you. I still trust the Canadian Postal system and whether the application was received by Mike or Anthony or McDonald, it will be in the system sooner or later if it reaches still intact to the agent verifying and entering the data in the system.
It seems that CIC is recruiting more agents from early next year (information based on the job ads), that means they know the problem. However, there will be more loads in the local CIC offices to process the applications and no doubt subsequent delays for decision making.
I would like to suggest people to avoid calling IRCC for whether their form has been received or not kind of questions, as they have clearly mentioned that they can’t tell until it is entered into the system. How can a person (agent on phone) know whether the application of applicant “A” is on Mike or McDonald’s table until it is in the system? More serious reason is, one more needy applicant cannot reach to the IRCC agent if the phone systems are occupied every time. And that needy person can be you in the future. Though, I am not any authorized person to ask or instruct people to do or not to do this, this is just for a courtesy or to promote more civilized way of dealing with the system.
