A Passport request email... What does it mean?

So this is my case. I applied for my visa on November 1st and I got medical request on November 16th. Then I received this email on November 22nd before finishing my medical:

This is in reference to your application for temporary residence. We would like to inform you that medical instructions were sent to automatically to your e-mail address. Upon carrying out the medical instructions, kindly send your original passport to our office so that we can finalize processing your application. See passport requirements below:

Passport requirements

• Please provide your passport or travel document, with a copy of this letter.

• There must be at least one blank page in your passport.

• Your passport must be valid for the duration of your expected length of stay in Canada.

• Please note that we cannot issue a visa beyond the expiry date on the passport.

I'm confused because I got this email before I did my medicals so I'm not sure that my visa is approved.

given instruction clearly indicate you have to submit passport after u get ur medical done

Of course that's what I did. I finished my medicals and then submitted my passport today. But a lot of people have the idea that passport request means approval but I'm confused because they asked for my passport before receiving my medical result.

This means your visa has been approved and you have to submit the passport for visa stamping.I got the same mail. CONGRATULATIONS

Did your email say "upon finishing medical" as well??? Because I didn't even give my Medical when they asked for my passport so why would they want to give me visa before they know that I even passed my medical?

Embassy won't provide the complete detailing about the visa if they asked for your passport for completyion of visa processing means its been approved

They never request your passport unless your visa is approved.

My final decision just changed to approved on my CIC account

Hi All
Just to let you know my Study visa experience as follows.
1. On 25th Sept.2017submited my application (along with my medical test in advance from panel doctors for avoiding delays).
2. Got request for passport on 23rd Oct.17
Hope my visa will be granted.
